Innovation based on tradition
In 1970 Adolf Grüninger AG was founded as a successor to the cooking fat factory “A. Grüninger’s Erben”. The joy of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit have accompanied the history of the company right from the very beginning. After specializing in bakers’ margarines, the firm quickly rose to become one of the leading suppliers of industrial and commercial margarines in Switzerland.
Over the years the lab, tank storage, production facilities and warehouse have been enlarged considerably due to the great increase in turnover. Moreover, a process control system was installed, which controls and monitors the entire production in addition to automatically weighing the fats and oils. This renders a high level of production safety, because all quality-relevant data are recorded completely and are available for the possible tracing of goods.
Since 1987 Grüninger AG has been a member of the Centravo group. In addition to Grüninger, Nutriswiss, with its headquarters in Lyss, is represented in the food sector. The challenge of the future is to manage the emerging liberalization of import/export regulations for raw materials and final products. Grüninger AG is already prepared for these challenges today.
